Dupont in the Snow

Our friends Andy and Kelly, went with us on a hike Sunday to Dupont to see the waterfalls in the snow. It had snowed over 12" in many areas. The hike was more difficult than usual because the top layer of snow was frozen. Olive had a blast and was running full blast kicking up snow everywhere. It was nice to get out.

New bumper and a day ride

(Edit) For some reason google isn't letting me put my photos in order, please start at the bottom)

Denny at Hard Labor Creek Fabrication came into town this weekend and brought my bumper with him. I removed my old bumper on Saturday morning and we put in the new one. On Sunday we all went for a ride. A couple Land Rover friends came by to help on Saturday also.

The bumper is all steel with color matched corners and cut-outs for the factory fog lights.

URE!6 Land Rover Expedition

We had a great time once again at the Old North State Land Rover Society weekend trip. This year Tiff and I got to share it with her parents and brother. Also, Dale and Ester, Tiffany's clients, came along in their Toyota 4Runner. Nick spent some time that weekend taking photos and mingling with all the Rover folks. Shawn and Hasite (Defender) and Jeremiah and Liz (Discovery 1) were also there.

It was wet and rainy for the trail rides, which was good, and then it dried up afterwards for the camp dinner and auctions and raffle. There were a little less vehicles this year, but it was very laid back and a ton of fun. We went on some night rides and did the moderate/hard trails this year. Our LR3 went as a equipment and gear truck and the Discovery did an excellent job on the trail.

I didn't take many photos this year, so check out Nick's photo and video links. He took some amazing photos and really captured the event.

Fly Fishing - The French Broad in Powell

I went out with one of our physicians to photograph him for an advertising campaign and to do some fishing. It was a cloudy day, but the photos turned out okay and we caught around 30-40 fish.

Fall is here.

Rainy Day ride in the Honey Hole

The Sunday after the Brewgrass Festival we met up with some friends and took a ride through the Honey Hole. I've posted some pictures of this location before, but I was always riding in my stock truck. Shawn and Hastie were in the Defender, Jeremiah and Liz in the Discovery, Dale and Ester in the 4Runner, and Tiffany and I in our Discovery. It is been really wet here, so it was a bit challenging. I backed into a large rock (that I knew was there!) and jarred my QT differential guard. So, I guess it is nice to have protection there! We had a great time and got a little off-roading fix for a bit...
