Katie and John Visit - Spring 09

Katie and John came into town for an extended weekend. We spent some time in Asheville and Hendersonville on a "culinary tour." We had a great time and fit in some hiking. John and Katie also did a great mountain bike ride in Bent Creek Experimental Forest.

Olive fell in love with Katie and John too, leaving my lap many times to snuggle in with them. We can't wait for them to come back into town for a visit!

We went hiked John Rock and went up to the Devil's Courthouse also. The weather was perfect for being outdoors. Tiffany and Katie got in some much needed friend time also.

LR3 - Vrrrooommm

Tiff's lease came a couple of months ago so we went down to one Land Rover for a while (wink, wink). We shopped around for quite awhile and Tiffany found a great LR3 in Charlotte. A 2006 with 23k on it. It is very very different than the Discovery but we love it.

It is seven passenger, it has three sun roofs, it raises and lowers with air suspension, heat front and rear seats, voice command, GPS, satellite, the seats fold down all the way flat, etc. It rides great. Tiff is happy because she can cart around clients to job sites in the mountains, we can fit visitors in it, it lowers for easier access, yada, yada, yada.

I like it because it is great off-road too. We found a good deal and it ended being the same color as my Disco too. So, I have to admit I like the color, but it is weird to have the same color vehicle...I'm sure I'll get over it.

So, here are some driveway pics. The "off-road" pics are at full off-road height, so the Rover is about 3" taller than normal height.

Beaufort Business Retreat 09

We spent the weekend with Bill and Button at their beach-side condo in Beaufort, South Carolina. We had gorgeous spring weather and clear skies all weekend. Basically we hung out at the beach and flew kites, played boccie ball, rode around in the golf cart and ate. Button and Tiff made some great meals and we went out a couple of nights.

We went on a sunset golf cart cruise and even saw some dolphins playing just out reach on the shore as the sun dipped down out of sight.
I took some pictures of the other beach houses so that you could see what most of them look like. Very tropical and some a huge. They are built up on posts also.

We had a h
ardcore boccie ball challenge vs Bill and Button and came out victorious! The stage for another victory has already been set for next year too!

We joked about spending our vacation photographing dead beach life,
so I took some pictures of living things also.
