Here we go a Rovering...

Sunday morning after the Christmas party our group went on a little mission to find some more areas to off road in. We had heard of a place through our circle of Land Rover friends, so we went exploring.

The beginning track was rocky will some easy declines, and then we found some trenches. We ended up taking a trail way down a long hill side and crossed a stream with a granite bed. Across the stream we met a dead end. We all turned around and headed back. Right at the base of the hill, the leaves mushed into the ground under Jeremiahs D1 and he got buried.

We worked on him for about an hour to no avail. He backed up out of the way and we sent in Shawn and Hastie's D90. The Defender made it right through. With the Defender on the other side, we pulled Jeremiah out and they drove up to the top of the hill only to get into some trouble again at the top. While they worked out the slippery top, I struggled in the same hole Jeremiah did. I got right up to the end of the pit and couldn't get enough traction or momentum to break the crest.

Shawn had to back down to me and give me a yank also. Another 45 minutes later we were all free after a lot of digging, pushing, pulling, hanging, and skinny petal. By that time, we were all ready for a beer at Hannah Flanagan's. I'll post some more pictures when I get them from the other cameras.
